Getting the most out of your smoke study

At PV, we have a successful history of providing smoke studies to manufacturers in FDA-regulated industries. We understand the importance of accuracy and precision needed to perform a proper study for our clients. For us, it is not just about filming the scenes and writing reports. It is about assisting and guiding our clients through the process and providing them with peace of mind by delivering them the proper documentation and footage to have a successful regulatory audit.

Over the years, as our team executed smoke studies, they started to see gaps in how the industry’s standard equipment could not provide the exact results PV’s standards have come to expect. Tubes were not long enough, nozzles would not allow smoke to go in a precise location, so our team came together to figure out how to overcome these obstacles.

Piece by piece, smoke study by smoke study, the team looked at each project as a learning opportunity to see how we can be more efficient, how to provide better results and how we can improve for our clients. That is when the idea of fabricating our own accessories for our Water for Injection (WFI) foggers began.

Our team started fabricating special fittings, adapters, knuckles, and nozzles that have added up to a large inventory that comes with the team to each project. With each project having its own unique requirements, the PV team comes more than prepared. All the custom accessories are to assist the team in getting the smoke in the precise spot to make the process easier, more efficient, and the best quality footage for our client.

At PV, we are committed to providing the highest quality smoke studies for our clients. At the end of each study, our clients are left with peace of mind and an audit-ready package. Introducing the fog at the correct height and perpendicular to the airflow is a challenge.  By utilizing our 3” PVC tubing and couplers and entering through the RABS glove we were able to get the fog exactly where we needed it.
